5 Steps to Successful Color

1. Schedule a Visit (or Send Photos)

If you're nearby, we'll schedule a site visit to meet with all decision-makers, and I'll take additional photos while I'm there. If not, we'll start with photos you send me so I can get to know your space — I'll share tips for taking great shots, and you don't need to be a pro!

2. Select and Review

Based on your initial color choices, I'll order larger paint sheets from the manufacturer — sizes range from 4″x6″ to 8″x11″, often at no charge, with larger painted samples available for a small fee. There are other great ways to preview colors too, which I'll share when we talk. Once you've had a chance to review everything, we'll connect to discuss your thoughts.

3. Start Your Profile Questionnaire

Your personal Color Profile Questionnaire is ready whenever you are — it's a great way to start defining what colors will work best for you.

4. Test Real Paint Colors

I'll share best practices for testing physical paint samples before committing to gallons. This is also where our Digital Visualization Service (Designer Color Palettes) becomes especially useful — particularly for larger projects with multiple colors.

Optional: Digital Visualization Service (DCP)

See your exterior or interior with new colors applied — before buying any paint. I typically provide 2-3 color scheme options, which painters often use alongside the written paint plan. Turnaround is typically 10-12 days (unless you need a “rush” order), and this can be added at any point in the process.

5. Your Written Paint Plan

I'll follow up with a final written paint plan, detailing the specific colors and products for each area — sometimes drawing from multiple paint brands depending on your needs. Even if you choose the Digital Visualization Service, you'll still receive this written plan.
